Zumba® Spice Home

Welcome all to my web site!! Check in every once in a while to see what's new with Zumba® and my classes.

NEW! Starting Monday, Sept. 12, 2011 I will be teaching at the Hayloft Dance Hall at 15320 35th Ave. W, Lynnwood, WA 98087 on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6-7pm.

I am currently teaching Zumba® Tuesday & Thursday nights from 7-8pm for the Lynnwood Parks & Rec. in their beautiful, new Recreation Center. Come and join in the fun! You can register online here.

For my most updated teaching schedule, look here or check out the Classes page.

As you may have noticed, I have added a CHAT feature on this website for all of my Zumba® friends. I am hoping it will give us all an opportunity to 'chat' with each other since we often don't get the chance to do so before/after class. I think it'll be another wonderful way to connect with each other, don't you? I'm already registered; my nickname is Zumba®spice. Try it out and let me know what you think. I'm looking forward to chatting with you soon.

Zumba® TIPS:

  • Show up early to class especially if you have any questions about certain dance moves or how to adapt certain moves for particular injuries or just to guarantee a good spot to dance. Also a good time to chat with me!
  • Warm up is very important!! Showing up to class late and not taking time to warm up may cause injuries. Cool down is just as important!! So please do stay to the end of class!
  • Make sure to bring water! We work up a good sweat in class and it is important to stay hydrated.
  • Shoes & workout clothes please!! Proper shoes for Zumba® would be cross-trainers or fitness dance shoes. They provide excellent support for all the moves we do in Zumba® and help prevent injuries. Believe it or not, I've had people try to do the class barefoot, with sandals or flip flops or Keds (not enough support)!! I also recommend dressing in comfortable workout clothing so as to be able to move freely and absorb sweat. Skirts, especially tight, jean (yes, have had this in class too) are not recommended because it restricts your movements.
  • If you're new to Zumba®, please do come and introduce yourself to me. With so many people coming to class, it is sometimes difficult for me to determine who is new to Zumba® or not (especially if you hide in the back!). I recommend being closer to the front of the class if you are new. That way, you are able to see the moves better. Don't worry... everyone is too busy watching me so don't be self-conscious about not getting the moves right the first few times around!
  • Last but not least... HAVE FUN!!
Caution!
